Fortunes have been made throughout history – and more than a fair share have been based on the expertise, skill and spirit of those who lived and worked in London.

The  coffee shops of the 17^th and 18^th century saw the  foundations of the City’s reputation for world-wide trade and business expertise. Yet alongside wealth has been poverty and disease.
